Gerlacta
New to procreate and overwhelmed by all the different brushes and not knowing what brushes everyone is using to create.
I was exactly the same when I first started so I created my everyday brush pack. This is a collection of brushes I use every day for all of my art works. These brushes are all you need to start creating beautiful art works today. I have put a quick description next to each brush explaining how and what I use these brushes for.
*These brushes are compatible with PROCREATE only!
25 brushes for procreate that I use everyday.
Gerlacta Monoline
This is a great monoline pen which gives you a straight or curved lined that is the same thickness no matter the pressure. I use this when creating a stroke for my lettering. It is also great for erasing large areas.
Gerlacta Fine Pen
This pen tool is like a fine line pen. I use this when I am wanting to sketch out something quickly or when I need lines that aren't straight or perfectly rounded. Like for flower petals where you want to have some little bumps and curves to give more character to each petal.
Gerlacta Fine Pen extra streamline
This is the same as the Pen brush but it is more streamlined so you don't have to change the settings every time you want a nice smooth straight or rounded line. I use this brush for all of my line work as I love a solid outline like a fine line pen if I was drawing on paper.
Gerlacta Grain
My absolute favourite grain brush. I use this for all of my shading and highlights when I am wanting something to have a bit of texture. It is also great for a glittery effect when you use the 'add' layer style.
Gerlacta Soft
My favourite soft brush, I use this for shading when I am wanting a smooth finished look. It is also great as a blender or for adding soft glows, shadows and highlights.
Gerlacta Blender
My favourite brush of them all is my blending brush. It has a slight texture too it which makes it perfect to use with the smudge tool (the one that looks like a finger) use this brush to blend your colours together.
Gerlacta Highlights
This is a fine line pen but glowy. I love using this highlight brush to go around my letters for some glowy highlights. I also use this for my flowers to highlight all the petals. This brush will give your work the little finishing detail it needs to make it pop.
Gerlacta Butterfly
This is the butterfly shape I use all the time. Just change the colours and outline it with the highlights pen for a beautiful glowy butterfly in seconds.
Gerlacta Sparkle
For when you need a little extra sparkle.
Gerlacta Lines
These are the texture lines I use to create the crosshatched look on a lot of my lettering pieces. Just adds a little extra detail.
Gerlacta Petal Texture
I use this texture brush for my flowers when I want to add a very subtle texture, just make the opacity very low. I also add it to the outline of my lettering where I want it to have some texture as if the outline was slightly rusted or cracked.
Gerlacta Stars Less
For when you only need a small amount of glittery stars.
Gerlacta Stars More
I use this one a lot for my backgrounds, I love stars.
Gerlacta Stars Light
I use this in almost every background, it has very tiny stars and a very subtle smokey look to give that far away galaxy feel.
